HOSPITAL BOARD
At Thursday’s meeting <»f th ( . Grey Board, there present: Alessrs J. Brislane, E. Ashton, J. Lamberton, W. H. Parfitt, J. P. Irvine, and J. Greanev. Tn the absence of Air J. W. Hannan, Mr J. P. Irvine was voted to the chair. Dr Watt, Acting Inspector-General of Health, xvrote in respect to the plans of the proposed additions to the Hos. pital (children’s Avard, Nurses Home, etc.) stating that the plans met Avith the Department’s approval. The Avrit. er also stated that he would be visiting Greymouth at an early date, and would take the opportunity of discussing the matter at length with members of the Board. The Minister’s consent to the loan was also forwarded by the Department. Mr F. Longshaw, Clerk of Works, reported that excellent progress xvas being made xvitli the Old People’s Home building. Tavo more days of fine Aveather should see the roofing completed, and good progress xvas also being made with the internal structure. plumbing, etc. Sister Wccnink has been granted annual leave of absence. It was decided to offer the Rex'. D. Hay the sum of £lO for an invalid’s (‘hair, which he had offered to the Board. The Matron, Miss K. L. Braidwood, reported that Probationers' F. Forrester, R. O’Neil and D. Stack had coninienceil their three months’ trial. ill the absence of Dr Moore (who is indisposed), the Matron reported that the total number of patients treated during the month was 143. There were three deaths during the same period.
