THE DOMAIN AT HU TOR. (To the Editor). Sir: — Kindly allow me a ' space in your paper to make clear the position re the Domain at Rector. For some time pa>st a Reerea- ■ >u Committee have been acting oi> behalf of the public in regard to a reserve in that township vested in Buller County Council. They applied to the Council to have the reserve set aside as a domain. I h (lounc.il left the matter in the handof the Hon. Mr. Mclntyre to deal with, and on this advice Mr. McBride (acting Secretary) called a public meeting for the 18th of June for the purpose of forming a Domain Board. After the position was explained to the meeting, a resolution was moved and adopted unanimously“ That this public meeting of fho citizens of Hector and Agakawau form a Domain Board for the purpose, of carrying out the business f and that we apply to the Minister o' Internail Affairs for registration u” der the Act.’’ The members elected on the Ik’n'-H were: —Messrs J- E. Mcßride (chairman), F. Burns (Secretary and Treasurer), S. Crase, L. Morganty. A. McDonald, J. Edwards and P. Greenwood. The meeting then formed themselves into a Working Committee to clear the. ground. A furitbcr meeting was held on the 25 1 ' June, when a. strong committee of ladies was formeci to arrange wavs and means of raising funds for the nec-essarv improvements. I am etc., F. BURNS. Hector.
