(Special Io Argus). WELLINGTON, June 27. hallowing the Reform and Libeiai Caucuses on Friday night, there was a meeting of the Fusion Committee on Saturday night. The meeting lasted several hours yesterday afternoon Mr. J. A. Young, who was appointed to make a report for the press, announced that the conference had entered into a thoroughly earnest and friendly consideration of the several points of view. The delegations will report lo their respective principals. Ihe members o| the comiiiit'.ees were.— Reform:—Messrs J. \ Young, (). Hawken T. I). Burnett ami W. J. Girling. Liberal—Messrs (-. Forbes, R. Masters, M’. A. Veitch, ami A. J. Murdoch. As far as can be gathered, the conference did not bring the question of a fusion any nearer. II is now becoming increasingly evident that there will be no amalgamation worthy of the name before ’.he election.
