PRO-BRITISH MILITARIST SEEKS PERSIAN REGENCY. (R e ceived June 22 at 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 22. “The Daily Express' Paris correspondent states that Persia is tired of the Shah who prefers to live abroad, and as the priests have persuaded the Persians that a Republic is wrong Reza Khan proposes to crown one of the young princes, and appoint himself as Regent. Twelve years ago Reza Khan was only a Commissionaire at a Legation, but during the war he became an officer, and General Ironside after the war. appointed him as organiser of the rabble of the Persian Army. Consequently he found himself in command of the army, which is now 40,000 strong.
