(Our Own Correspondent). The sale of the Exchange Hotel and. Princess Theatre took place on Saturday afternoon, Air AV. P. Monteith being the purchaser at £1950. There was an alarm of fire on Saturday evening about 6.13, when a house on the Buller Road occupied by Air McCormack, was completely gutted.- The fire brigade were quickly upon the scene, but the fire had q »i"c a good hold, and all that could be done was to stop the fire from spreading to the adjoining buildings. It was caused through a child about five years of age accidentally dropping a light in ■ i room while the parents were absent. Tho hockey match between Reef ton and Cronadun teams was played on the racecourse on Saturday, resulting in a drawn game. The Cronadun and Shop Assistants played their senior cup fixture at Reef ton on Sunday afternoon, the former proving victorious by 9 points '3 tries) to 5 one try converted. Air R. Heslop had charge of the whistle, and gave satisfaction. The Pirates journeyed to AYa uta and were successful in defeating the AVaiuta team by 11 points to nil.
