(Our own correspondent.) > COUNTY COUNCIL. At, this month’s of the In- : nge.hua County Council, there were present: Crs Bell (chair, Auld, McVicar, Blackadder, Wats h*, Byrne. Carroll and O’Regan.

A statement was read showing the adjustment arrived at with Murchison County ‘in taking over the portion of the Marvin South Riding, the net amount to be paid by the Tnangahua County being £67 Is 7d. Cr Auld moved that a hearty vote bf thanks be accorded to the delegates attending the Murchison Conference, the statement of adjusting be approved, and the County solicitor be instructed to prepare an agreement embodying the terms of the settlement. Cr. MV-A ie.ar seconded.— Carried. Cr. MeVicar moved that a motion of sympathy be extended to the Rt. Hon. the Prime Minister in his illness. Cr. McViear seconded.—Carried. Cr. Tin* Engineer was instructed to p!N) vide passing places in the BlackwaterWaiuta Road. It was decided that the County Clerk’s salary be-increased by £25 per annum.
