• Our own corrosponiTenr.) The Okura bar, in the far south of Westland, is at present in a verv ba I state. The channel is said to be running about a mile and a half along the north beach. The Gold Prospecting Company’s mill at Lake Kanieri, which has been closed down for some months, will resume cutting in a fortnight’s time. Mr Tom LDee, of San Francisco. U.S.A., and formerly of Hokitika, is a visitor to Hokitika renewing old acquaintances. He is now in business at ’Frisco. Trainer F. Lynch has given the pacer Athos up, and the aged son of Bogash has returned to his owner at Blackball. Messrs Warren and Feeney’s new sawmill, which is being erected at Brennan’s Creek, on the Blue Spur Road, is nearing eompletion. The plant is ail, up-to-date one, capable of cut ting eight or nine thousand feet per day. The raeehors-os Phil May and Big Push have been sent to South Westland, where they will be turned out.
