Fining a man £5 and costs for selling cigarettes during the hours in which tobacconists’ shops are required to be closed, Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., said that the practice of shopkeepers in selling cigarettes after hours to the detriment of the legitimate tobacconists must be checked If the hours during which tobacconists’ shops were permitted to be open did not suit the public, I hen such hours should be changed. While those hours were in operation however, the tobacconists had to be protected.
