Company shows that alter allowing lor depreciation and debenture interest, there is 51 credit balance of 1.072,0(H» including €lOl,OOO brought forward. A dividend of 5 per cent, on preferred and 12 per cent, on deferred, tax free will be pax!, while £219.000 is carried to reserve for the redemption of debentures, and £139,000 to discount ai’d charges. The debenture, stock amd insurance fund remains at £3,218,000 with £lOl,OOO carried forward. The icport states that the mail service was carried on under some difficulty, owing to the loss by enemy action ol many fine ships. Next year, there is every prospect of a reversion to the full pip-war schedule on all li«ies. The Company hopes to resume ait the beginning of 1925 the fortnightly service to Australia by means of the Cathay class, now being constructed.
