INDIAN COMPLAINT.
AgainsJ Government FOR BACKING BANKRUPT BANK. (Aus. and N.Z ‘.al Io Assn.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received July 20 at 5.5 p.m.) DELHI, July 19. After a heated debate the Indian Assembly passed a vote of censure on the Government of India, with a majority of nine, on account of its intervention in connection with the Alliance Bank affairs. The motion was moved by a prominent Indian member and it was strongly supported. The Indians’ contention was that the Government had not any right to afford relief to the Alliance Bank sufferers, unless it was prepared also to give relief to other bankrupt concerns, which it has refused to pledge itself to do. Tiie Finance Minister, replying, do dared that the Government took this action in order to prevent a financial panic. He denied there was any racial feeling on the part of the Government because ninny of the depositors in the bank were Europeans.
