INFANTICIDE.

MARRIED COUPLE CHARGED. DUNEDIN, July 25. A young married couple, Stuart Cecil II- Hand and Dolly Heather Harland, were arrested this morning on a charge of murdering their infant female child. The case arises from the finding of the body of the children in the bush in Park Street a week ago. AL the adjourned inquest, Dr Evans exnressed an opinion that the child died from asphyxia following stranguInt ion. Detective Beer's inquiries took him to tlie Bluff where on Sunday hi* interviewed Harland, who is a butcher. The couple came to Dunedin yesterday and later were arrested ami brought before the Court on the murder charge. They were remanded till Friday without bail. Chief Detective Bishop stated t ,at prior to July .17, the couple cam J to Duendin, ami stopped privately.' It would be proved that the female was then pregnant.
