INDECENT LETTERS.

FINE OF £5O. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 24. Two charges of sending indecent documents through the Post were admitted by Thomas Bernard Briekland, aged 24, a new arrival in the Dominion. The letters were sent to women. The Magistrate said that, in view ot the accused’s previous good character, he would be better at work than in gaol. Ho fined Brickland £5O on the first charge or in default three months, and order him to come up for sentence on the second in two years' time. He was allowed a month to pay the fine.
