QUEST FOR TRADE.
ANOTHER IMPERIAL ORGANISATION. TO GET TARIFF PREFERENCE. LONDON, July 20. A new organisation, styled the Empire Development Union, is being formed, headed by Viscount Long and Air Gaillard Hewins, with the object of stimulating trade within the Empire. The Union has issued a statement That the present collapse of the British export trade, the widespread unemployment. and the embarrasment of the national finances demand treatment or. the lines of statesmanship laid down by the Imperial Conference of 1917-18.
