SHEEP PRICES MAINTAINED. [a. and N.Z. Cable Association.] SYDNEY. Juiy 7. At the sheep sales, prices of Merinos were well maintained though there were no sensational figures. The top prices were two rams -*5O guineas and 470 respectively. British breeds ■were dull of sale. A lot of Leicesters on behalf of .John and William Nixon, brought U to 10 guineas. Donald Grant’s Curriedales averaged five guineas. SUGAR PRICES TO FALL. MELBOURNE, July 7. Mr Rodgers definitely promised a deputation from the Housewives’ Association that the price of sugar would be reduced next week. MELBOURNE, July 7. Barley, English 4/-, Cape 3/-: oats 3/-O potatoes £4 to £5; onions, £l4 to £l4 10/-. SYDNEY, July 7. Mr Rodgers said the. balance, sheet regarding tlr sugar position , would btk presented next week, and definitely promised a reduction in the price, but what amount and on what date lie ■ was unable to say.
