PROCEEDING IN CHINA. (Received June 16 at 11 p.m.) PEKIN, June 16. Fighting on a Urge scale has been resumed betwet'n Wu Pei Fu and Chang Tso Lin.’ The truce cabled on June Bth appears to have been a ruse on the part of Chang Tso Lin to gain time t.o reorganise his army. Chang Tso Lin is now virtually surrounded, :nd is being driven towards Mukden. The plight of the wounded is 1 errible. The capture of (wo Japanese spies is confirmed. They were surrendered to the Japanese Commandant, at a treaty port.
