Consternation has bven caused amongst bookmakers through the action of a firm of solicitors claiming from a number of bookmakers repayment to an !' of money paid by a bettor bv cheques, i.. ... l.lemeut of lost Lets. The action is taken under the English Gaming Act, under which it has been decided that bets paid by cheque are recoverable.
