RECEIVES GIFT OF £5OOO. (Rec. Alay 30, 3 1.32 p.m.) DUNEDIN, May 30. A prominent citizen of Dunedin and an admirer of the Otago University, whose previous gifts have made possible the lectureship in cfhnologv and have done much to enrich the ethnological department of the museum, has added to those gifts by giving £5OOO. which he devoted to strengthening the ethnological department in the Otago Uni vorsi ty.
