STEAMER AFIRE.
DEVON HELD UP AT LYTTELTON. CHRISTCIH'RCH, Alay 30. Tin' Feder: 1 steamer Devon, which was held up by heated bunkers on Alonday, is now on fire in the bunker, at Lyttelton. The Fire Brigade had three leads of water on it at 7.30 to-night, but little can be done towards finding the seat of the fire until the coal is discharged. The work of discharging is very slow owing to the dense smoke and fumes. The Devon is fully loaded and was on the point of s: iling for Home when the fire was discovered in the bunker.
