Ah’ G. IL Aloss, formerly of Reefton, but now of Christchurch, arrived in Reefion on Thursday night. The death is recorded at Dunedin of Air Dadelszent, aged 77. formerly Re-gistrar-General and Statistical Office’for New Zealand. Mr AV. R. Devereaux may contest the Christchurch East seat in the Reform Party’s interests at the genera’ election. Air AV. R. Kettle, who has been ill for th epast 11) days, was able to be about for a short time yesterday. Air J. Bannister, the Hokitika Excelsior forward, selected to join the Alaori Rugby team for the Australian tour, has been advised to reach Napier by June 4. A Sydney cable states that Air AV. A. Holman, former Premier of New South Wales, has declined a seat in the Legislative Council, stating that he desired to devote his whole time to the law. The Hon. C. J. Parr visits the Cobden and Runanga Schools this morning and will return to Greymouth to lunch. He will commence his tour of the Buller electorate this afternoon and . will be accompanied by the member for the electorate (Air 11. E. Holland). Air A. F. Foote has been appointed manager of the AVoodville branch of the Bank of New Zealand. Air Foote was second in command at AVoodville from 1909 until 1913. Air Foote, who, , since, has been managing the Cromwell branch, is a native of Greymouth, and , son of Al.” A. Foote, for many years a resident of this town and now of AVairoa. Airs Margaret Horn, widow of Mr Anthony Horn, formerly a. stationer at Westport, died on Thursday evening at the residence of her daughter, Airs Mann, Peel Street, AVestport. Deceased was a native of Roserea, Ireland, and arrived at AVestport 50 years ago. She was 68 years of age. She leaves a grown up family of five daughters and one son.
