DANCING COMPETITIONS. DUNEDIN, Alay 29. The Dancing and Piping Competitions here commenced to-night before a large attendance, with numerous entries, competitors being present from practically all parts of the Dominion. The results were:— Strathsspey and Reel Playing (all comers). — Ist, John Cameron (Southland); 2nd, Chas. MacDonald (AA’anganui); 3rd. Archibald AlcMillan (Dunedin); 4th Angus AlcAlillan (Dunedin). Twelve -competitors. Sean Truibhais (for girls 10 to 12 I years).— Ist, Doreen Wheeler. (Duni edin); 2nd. Al. Duffy, (Dunedin); 3rd Kitty Aluirav (Otago). 'There were 16 competitors. Sword dance, (boys 12 tn !.>>. —lst. Chas Spear, (Dunedin): 2nd, A. Sinclair, (Dunedin); 3rd Jack Alayiiew, (Invercargill); 4th Ernest Firkin, (Timaru). There were seven competitors. Sailors Hornpipe.(men). —Ist, Norman Kilgour (Timaru); 2nd. Robert Clark (Dunedin); 3rd. Goo. Anderson, (Dunedin). Highland Reel, (boys and girls, 15 to IS years).—lst Thelma Gillespie, (Biuiodin); 2nd, Thelma McKenzie, (Wellington); 3rd, Violet Patterson, (Dunedin); 4th, Grace Cameron, (Balclutha). There were 14 competitors. Irish Jig. (girls 12 to 15 years).— Ist, Joan McLachlan, (Wellington); 2nd Eileen McCarthy, (Dunedin); 3rd, Terese Kyle, (Timaru); 4th, Ruby Robiiison (Dunedin). There were .15 competitors.
