ARAHUKA FAT STOCK SALE. Monday’s entries at the above yards comprised 62 fat sheep, 50 head fat cattle and three vealers, the market being a fairly good one for quality, though no ox beef was yarded, which tended to keep prices down. Competition did not improve on last month’s sale, and beef made from IS/- to 22/6 per 1001 b. The sheep which were light, sold well up to prices recorded at other markets. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold the following: For Mr Jno. McGregor, 31 owes and wethers at 19/6 and 31 ewes and wethers at 19/-; on account Messrs Sullivan Bros., three heifers at £6 7/6, three at £5 15/-, three at £5 10/-, two at £5 7/6, three at £5 5/- and three at £5; on account Mr T. Stopforth, three vealers at £1 10/- each; on account Mr F. G. Williams, two heifers at £5 12/6, two at £5 5/-, seven at £5 2/6, two at £4 15/-. Several pens of this vendor’s cattle were passed, not reaching the owner ’s reserve.
