SPANISH WHITE TERROR.

Mention has already been made in these columns of the almost incredible state of reaction that exists in Spain to-day, where constitutional guarantees have been suspended, enabling the dominating class to take any violent measures it chooses amongst the working class without any necessity for legal justification. It is a heinous crime for the workers to "act unconstitutionally; it is a matter of ordinary procedure for the master class to act outside their own laws when it suits their purpose to do so. Readers of these notes are already aware of the fact that the largest Labour organisation in Spain comprising nearly a million workers, was declared an illegal association, its funds at the bank confiscated, and its members thrown into gaol by the thousand. During the last three months, according to a Belgium daily paper, over 800 workers from the great industrial province of Catalonia and principally from Barcelona have died under the blows of the white guards, aided by the scab union which serves as an auxiliary to the police. A new document has been published in Spain containing a list of the crimes committed by the Spanish “fascist!” in 1920, against the workers organised politically or industrially.—Labour News Service.
