UNIVERSITY’S FAILURE
POSITION AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Dec 3. At Sydney University, a Committee was appointed recently to enquire into the degeneration of the University spirit. It was reported that it is due among other causes, to p.n enormous increase in the number of. students by medium of exhibition bursary awards; to the drift during war, and to a crowding of the curricula, which is speeding up the competitions, and breeding a fear of failure. A number of reforms wore suggested, chiefly, in the direction of encouraging sporting facilities.
