NOTES FROM SYDNEY
■>. (Out own Correspondent), AVHAT ARE WE STRIVING FOR.
As workers' we are striving. W have. bee.i striving for a long tim The history of Trades Unionism aion 'is sufficient evidence of that. Mix have wo: definitely arid clearly in ou . minds, what" we are striving for' Haves we a mental picture, for instana of a better, state of society that wi > should lijfe to bring-into existence! ;Do wo really want to make a changt .'or are we satisfied fo gihib along as we are doing now, accepting a umai • concession here and there and conso] ; ing ourselves that bread and butter come to us \a little easier than they did at certain times in working class history ? Instead of being all sixes and sevens as it appears we! are, the-.work-ers should at least, be united upon the question, of their economic status. They should understand their position in relation to capitalism and should be putting in instructive work with all speed possible so that the trans T ferp.ice from a sectional or capitalist control of industry to a. community ' control may be made as expeditiously and smoothly as possible.'
