SEND-OFF TO MR. W. O 'CONNOR

Last evening ■ ttt Miss Anderson 's Boarding-house/ Pukctahi Street, a large number of friends met to bid good-bye to one of the boarders, Mr. W. O 'Connor, who' is leaving f or Hokitika. • Mr. W. Ryan was voted to the chair, and in a neat speech presented v Mr. O'Connor with a shaving outfit on, behalf of Miss Anderson, the boarders and -his friends. Several toasts were duly honoured, while many songs, recitations and speeches were given by those present. Altogether it was a most successful function, and concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne, ' ' and , three cheers for the departing guest.
