ANNUAL BALL

The Watersiders Annual Ball took, place in the Greymouth Town Hall last evening. To look on at the gay »ncl festive scene in the Ballroom, one would thiiijk that one of the society dances of the district was proceeding. Beautiful women, dressed in the latest fashions, with perfectly beeming dresses graced the floor.

About 100 couples graced the floor, a,n t l the picture of the^ young folk enjoying themselves was; good for the eyesight. A large number of onlookers took their place in the galloi'y, and judging by their pleased appearance, they e.ijoyed the. evening. The supper /arrangements were in the. hands of the Ladies' Committee, and tables loaded with good things made*. the "Argus" reporter feel that he wished he wefe young enough to do justice to some of the delicacies that spread themselves temptingly before his eyes. Fruit salads, and tan-tadluni tarts galore, t jellies a-nd cream, tempted the ipner man. The music was supplied by Williams' Orchestra, which was very pleasing to the dancers. During the evening Mr. 13. Butler j gave a.i exhibition of his dancing I dolls, which was very well received, the dolls going through all the evolutions of the cleverest dancers.. THE DRESSES. ' The "Argus" reporter could not j secure the names of many ladies who \ wore very beautiful dresses. To these J we will have to apologise for having I their n me s omitted from those mentioned. The organisation of the Committee was perfect, and everyone worked with a will towards perfecting the annual gathering. It would be unfair 'to single out any one for special mention so whole-heartedly did *U work for tho success, of their ball. . '.
