Kidditord's pair Menelaus and Mascot are worth a half sovereign m the New Zealand Cup. Detroit, Volo and Cynic will run well in the New Zealand Cup on Monday. Wrestler, Mortham and Kilboyne are spoken of as likely to catch the judges' eye in the rich Stewards' btakes. __ There is still an "if" about Volo starting in the New Zealand Cup. Backers are puzzled as liis name appears in the acceptances for the Welter. There was a big run on yesterday in Christchurch to back Sasanof. The woolbrokers have still got this horse very tight. Hymestra and Nanna finished together over six furlongs in 1.16 1-5. Sasanof sprinted half a mile in 49 sees. A lot of others did useful work.
