BIPLANE LAID UP
SYDNEY, October 4
After galloping at Randwick, Biplane displayed symptoms of lameness. The vet traced the trouble round the bi-ne of the off fore leg, and advised Mr. Greenwood to forfeit all Randwick and -Victorian, engagements and to turn the horse out for a lengthy spell. The vet thinks the trouble has been developing for some time, and piobably accounts for Biplane'e poor showing at Rosehill, and his erratic track gallops. ..'.....
Mr Greenwood has decided that if Gloaming wins the equivalent of what Biplane would have earned'^Tf successful in the Spring Stokes, he will present it to the Patriotic Funds.
As already stated, Biplane will be offered for sale on the 10th instant.
