GERMAN ATTACK NEAR SOISSONS

AYe progressed by local attacks on the plateau east and north of Allemnnt. We captured this morning after a sharp fight, a strongly held point east of Sancy. The number of bodies found north of Laffaux proves the heaviness of the enemy's losses in the recent fighting. The Germans on the Vesle . front thrice counter-attacked our positions in the Glennit region, but/Were repulsed with heavy losses. Six enemy aeroplanes fell on tlie 16th. Bombing squadrons dropped ten tons at night on enemy stations* h'vouacs and aerodromes despite a ragmg tempest.
