HAIG'S LATEST REPORT

(Rec. Seutember 20, 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, September 19. This morning Sir Douglas Haig reports: Tlie troops belonging to tlje Third and Fourth British Armies attacked," with complete success, at 5.2U this morning, on a front of about sixteen, miles, between Holnon and Gouzea'ueourt." ' Our troops, on the whole of this front, advancing in heavy-s torms or. rain, captured the enemy positions by assault, and swept over the old British trench systems of March 1918. They reached and captured the outerdefences of the Hinden burg line in a wule sector.. English, and Scottish troops on the right captured Fresnoy. Having captured its old front ..trenches, with the strong point ot Vaucellette farm, and /beaten oif count-er-attacks, Jit pushed forward morei than a mile beyond* this line, capturing, several hundred prisoners' and a battedy, complete with the teams. On our left, English and Welsh troops carried the remainder of the high "ground ..southward of Gouzeaucourt reaching the outskirts of Villecs Guislain, and capturing Gauch Wood.. ■ We captured over six thousand prisoners and a number •of guns in the course of these successful operations. .
