The Germans arranged for the Austrian troops to bear the brunt of the attack east of St Mihiel, and ordered them to hold us back until all the Germans had been withdrwn. - The Austria ns consequently suffered the heaviest. They especially lost in prisoners. The entire artillery — of the 31st German Division was captured.
