September 17, 12.50 p.m.) j LONDON, September 17 The Air Ministry reports: On the night of the 15-16 th inst, our aeroplanes heavily and repeatedly attacked fou/ aerodromes, with excellent results. They started four fires, wrecked three enemy .machines on the ground, demolished two hangars, directly hit two other hangars, hit a t:ansport convoy four times,, bombed the railway at Metz-Sablons, causing a fire. We successfully attacked railway junctions at Mainz, aad the docks and sidings at Karlsruhe, w;_h good I results at both targets. Seventeen jdirect hits were made at Karlsruhe, 1 where Z\ tons were (Jrcfpped. A total . of 250 bombs (161 tons): were drdppcd. I All our machines -returned.
