RACING NOTES
The executive of , the Owners and Breeders' Association in Christchurch has received intimation, from J. Bryce that he is prepared to send Cathedral Chimes against Our Tfiorpe's mile record of 2 mm 15 sec, at the Patriotic Trotting Meeting next month. Melee, who won the Amberley Cup is a three-year-old by Martian froni Formless, and is owned by Mr G. L. • Stead. As a two-year-old Melee won once at Timaru. Moddite, who was recently purchase' ed by J. M'Derinott, is being kept m steady work in view of contesting the Waitangi Steeplechase at the Kurow Meeting. Other Riccarton trained horses, in Morecambe, Merry Lad, and Vascular, are engaged in the same event. Mr C. G. Dalgety's mare, Lady Disdain, by The Officer-— Ariflamme, has foaled a colt to Maritan, and will be mated with Bonny Glen. The youngster is a brother to Snub and Bee, ana a half-brother to Disdainful and Scornful It is Mr G. L. Stead's intention to leave for Sydney to witness the Spring Meeting of the Australian Jockey Club at which his three-year-olds, Almoner and Kilmoon, are to be competitors.
