COUNTER-ATTACKS SMASHED
ITALIANS MAINTAIN POSITIONS. • LONDON, August 30. Italian official: • We drove back strong, counter-attacks in an effort to retake the positions on Bainsizza Plateau westward of Gorizia. We maintained our positions and advanced at some points. An enemy attack between Vipacco and Dossofaiz failed. We repulsed thrice-re-peated attacks in the Travenanzes Valley.
