COMPANIONS OF. HONOUR. LENGTHY LISTS. ALL CLASSES RECOGNISED. (Rec. August 25, 2.5 p.m.J LONDON, August 24. fjong lists of the first recipients of the Order of Companions of Honour and of various classes of the Order ol^ the British Empire have been issued. Tne men and women chosen tur» distinction are drawn from every walk of life, whose services during ihe war have won particular notice One class of the Order consists of a medal awarded for their services to men and Avomen -engaged in manual or other Avar work and for acts of great courage, self-sacrifice, high example, initiative, perseverance, skill, resource, and invention. The announcement foreshadows that the recommendations of fellow workers for Avorthy recipients will be considered. It is further announced that the Governments of India and the Dominions have agreed that lists of recpients to the order shall appear r>t subsequent dates. Civil Service. Military and Naval awards Avill similarly be deferred. 1
