NURSES' CARNIVAL
FANCY DRESS COMPETITIONS.
Dear Girls and Boys, — We are holding a "carnival for the V.M.C.A. funds on Saturday, August 4th. -We have chosen that day specially so that you will be able, to help us. If you look at the advertisement in the paper to-day; you will read about, the competitions we are inviting you, to enter for. The boys are asked to' represent any historical character. This should be quite easy to do. as there are such lots to choose from. You need not be a great hero, or a statesman, if you don't want to; you. can be Robinson Crusoe, or Jack-the Giant Killer, or Wicked Tim, of any other favourite character in fiction that you like to choose. We want; ih e girls to come dressed as flowers Somewhere a poet has likened flowers to "stars that in earth's firmament do shine." Will you be live flower stars, shining at our carnival and helping to make it bright and beautiful? We shall probaly write to. you again to ask you to help in other ways, but for the present you oah be saving up your pennies and getting ready for these two. competitions I You know if you help the Y.M.G.AI you are really being- kind to our valiant soldiers, fighting at the war-^-We are. your friends who depend -o n you, Nurses; Carnival Committee -
