The U-boat suopliers were shot and the oil and oth -r supplies confiscated. It -is believed that the movemeits of Allied ships were reported J>o the U-boats from a base in New York The "Herald's" Washington corras--pondent says: At the termination of five months unrestricted submarining naval officers estimate the result is far short of Germany's programme of on<» million tons monthly; He declares that the total tonnage lost during the first year does not exceed - four-mil-lions, while three millions were <onstructed in the same perkid.
