Inf announcing the results to-night. Commissioner Hoder declared that New Zealand led the world in responding to thos Army's appeal, while Gisbomo maintained the position it already occupied with the highest total ■ of any town; in the world. Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, Taranaki, Manawatu were also remarkably generous in the collections. Gisborno's total was £2900, an in. create of £600. Hastingg was £1520, an increase of £1094. A cable has been- received from General Booth to-night congratulating NeV Zealand.
