FRENCH ATTACKS COLLAPSE. . ' BERLIN, April 12. A communique states : — The French fruitlessly attacked northeast of Avocourt. Three French counter attacks, prepared by violent fire upon Pelper Hill, resulted in heavy enemy losses without result. Twice the "tormers failed to pass our curtain of fire. A third attack collapsed in front of our entanglements.
