The High Commissioner reports from London under date of April 12th rti.lo p.m.) as follows:— The French official report says that on the luppht hank of the Meiise the Germans launched an attack this morning, using liquid fire cm our positions at Bois de Caurettp* De'tweeln Mfotrhomme and Cumieres. The attack was completely repulsed. On the left bank them has been great artillery activity between Douaumont and Vaux, but the enemy did not renew the attacks in the course of the night. It has been confirmed that there was a very violent offensive action yesterday at 6 o'clock, which we repulsed. Tt cost the enemy particularly hijyh losses. The night was relatively calm on the rest of the front.
