.'' — ♦ , BRITISH REPULSE ATTACKS 1 • ________ CANADIAN GALLANTRY AT ST. ELOI. LONDON, April 12. Sir Douglas Haig reports : We made a successful small raid on the enemy trenches at Richebourglavone. The enemy on Tuesday made three successive attacks west of the PilckenYpres Road. The first gained a footing in our trenches, but the enemy was quickly driven out. Other attacks were repulsed. It is now established that the gallant fighting of the Canadians at St. Eloi last week inflicted heavy enemy losses. NO AUSTRALIANS AT VERDUN. (Received April 13, 8.20 «.m.) LONDON,. April 12.
