DISPUTE WITH FRIENDLY SOCIETIES. DEPUTATION TO MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 11. A deputation. from the British Medical Association waited on the Minister of Internal Affairs today in connection with their i dispute with the Friendly Soci- j eties regarding payment for attending lodge members. The doctors demand an increase 'of. from 15s to 24s per member, < on the ground that the present | scarcity of medical men through ! the requirements for military service renders the work more difficult to cover. A long discussion took place, the deputation indicating an inclination to stand firm by the demands, but eventually on Mr Russell's suggestion it was agreed that a conference with the Lodge representatives- be held on a date to b,o arranged.
