SUPERB GALLANTRY.
HEROIC PIPERS. PARIS, October 25. Although the British attack northward of La Bassee. on September 25th paled before Loos, ■"nevertheless it was memorable for superb gallantry. The Black Watch went over the parapet ivith pipers playing ahead Avhile the neu bombed along the trenches. After :he first rush, tAvo pipers, stood on ;he parapet under terrific fire and ilayed "The Highland Laddies' Regi.nental Chorge." The defiant, skirl vas heard above the bombs. One riper was shot down but his cornpanon continued. A Black Watch sergeant killed seven Germans with a .•ayonet, single-handed.
