SUBMARINE STATION DESTROYED. LONDON, Feb. 12. The Admiralty states that thirtyfour aeroplanes attacked Bruges, Zee= bruge, and Ostend with a view to de<= stroying the submarine base at Ostend. The station was burnt to the ground. AH pilots are safe. Two machines were damaged. Air Commander Samson commanded. [The reference to the destruction of the station presumably applies to the sheds at which the submarines, brought overland from Germany, were being put together.] LONDON, Feb. 12. The Admiralty states that a com= bined aeroplane and seaplane attack was conducted during the last twenty = four hours. The railway station at Blankenbergh was damaged and lines torn up .in many places. Bombs were dropped on guns in positions at Middlekirke, also on the power station and German mine= sweepers at Zeebrugge. The damage is unknown. No submarines were seen. Attackers encountered heavy snow. Flight Commander Grahame White fell into the sea at Nieuport, but a French vessel rescued him. I Although the attackers were exposed to heavy gun fire by mitrailleuses, only two machines were damaged.
