Kelling' v. Barnes (Roy Lopez) y Kelling- continued wiith the P to Q three variation, and after & carefully played game a draw was agreed to c n the 37th move.
Grierson v. Hill (French defence)— HiLl Jost a piece early in the game and resigned on the 41st move.
■Buckebt v ; C E.. Fox (centre counter game) — The^ latter lbst a pawn o-ri the eighth move, and getting into difficulties ersigned o.n the 28th move.
B. G. Fox v. Pleasants (Evans Gambit declined}— Pleasants worn a piece in the middle game, and scored ai win on move 29. r
Moore v. Severne (Roy Lopez) — An^ other carefully playedi game <jrawn on the 37th move. Mara v. Dodds (Roy Lopez) — A very interesting game vnfHished. Mara has three pawns against a knight .and a pawn. ~ Hicks; a. bye. , The Rev B. G. Fox has withdrawn from the contest on account of illhealth, and his 'remaining- games will be scored to his opponent. ROUND THREE. -Oram; won from B. G. 'Fox by default. S. W. Moore beat O. C. Pleasants at the 25th move. . .. F. K Kelling beat W. C. Hill on. the 1 24 th move. ! The other games are unfinished
