SIR LETHE WINS THE STEEPLES. '. /Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, July 3. The Gisborne Racing Club's Steeplechase Meeting opened at the Park Racecourse to-day in splendid weather. The attendance was good. The tote handled £13,732, compared with £13,759 last year. Results: —

MAIDEN HACK RACE, four furlongs. — I— Raupini 1, 3 — Melodist 2, 7 — Ormoloid 3. Won by a length,- a similar distance between second and third. . Time— 499 2-5.

PARK HURLES HANDICAP, one mile and thr.ee-quarters. — I—Grey1 — Grey King 1, 2-^Lamsdorf 2, 3— The Pole 3. Won pulling up, The Pole two lengths away third. Time— 3.2o.
