Northerly breezes* .have predominated ;in the North Island, and freshen ing northerlies with increasing cloudiness ' elsewhere. Rain is reported on the West Coast and southern districts. The barometer has fallen steadily in the south.
FORECAST.
Present indications are for a falling barometer everywhere, with increasing northerly and westerly ; winds; skies dull to overcast; rain following gener aily and probably heavy on the West Coast of the South Island.
