The, music was certainly >a 'treat, well selected, and its rendition left nothing' to, be desired. Probably the most pleasing number was the- cornet -solo "Australia" by Bandsman McKain. that. player exhibiting absolute mastery 'of the instrument. His' triple-tongueing is brilliant and -he never loses that delicacy of 'tone so seldom found in brass instrumentalists. ;

During the hiterval opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Bandsman . Compton (drummer) who has secured appointment loathe Railway Department at Westport. v ,- Conductor Sullivan briefly outlined the disttinguished services-rendered by Mr Compton and wished hiiij all success. . . ■'■ Mr. Compton suitably replied. ..
