(Per Press Association.) PAHIATUA COMPETITIONS. PAHIATUA, Nov 21. •The entries received for the second annuaOvcompetitions of the Pahiatua Musical and Elocutionary Competitions is gratifying, the number being considerably in excess of the total received for the inaugural gathering. The total is now over 160, as against 120 last year. Competitors besides local talent are drawn 'from Wellington, Masterton, Woodville, Eketahuna., Palmerston North and'Mangahoe. The competitions will commence on Wedncs day, December 4th, and will be continued till the following Friday evening-. The judge for Elocutionary section will be Mr. T. *L. Buick, of Wellington, and E. Gunter, of Palmerston North will adjudicate in the musical section. FOUND DEAD. • INVERCARGILL, Nov 21. The body of an Old Age Pensioner, Thomas Ladd. aged 67 years, was found in Cruickshanks bush, two miles from the^town. He had left his home on October Bth. ami all efforts to trace him failed. tT'hn body was in an advanced state of decomposition, but was identified by papers in the pockets of the clothes.
