John&ton, complaining- ox the bad turn on the- Main Grey Valley Road, near the Racecourse. Referred to the engineer. From Gerald Perotti, asking fhe Council to accept cancellation of itramway rights at Blackball. Agreed to allow the cancellation provi3od the line was pulled up. From Ashburton County Council, forwarding- by-laws reg-ulating-, motor i-rafiic. It was resolved on the application of Hon. Jas. Marshall that a committee consisting- of the chairman, Crs. Hargreaves, Hannan 'and Moirea report *c next meeting on *he matte r . (From P. McKenna, on behalf of the Grey Valley Farmers' Union, requesting- the Council to- supply poisoned grain, for destruction of small ibi'rds. Received. Donald McJntiosn wrote asking- for a road at Big .River. It was resolved to ask Mr. Mcln'tosh to confer with Mr. Hahn for the exchange of a piece of land for road purposes. Cr. Ryall broug-ht up the matter a dang-erous hole in Bright Street, Uobden. Resolved tha* 1 the engineer be instructed to confer with Mr. Gillies to to make arrangements to have the bolt filled in. On ihe motion of Cr. Hargreaves the sum of .£6 was granted for cutting a frack at Paparoa on the Moonlight track.. NOTICE OF MOTION. Cr .Hargreaves moved that tender& ( be invited for "the construction of about 8^ chains of roadway in Jolliffe sitireet, Blackball township. Or. Ryall seconded. Carried The enquiry from Mr McDonald as to his duties as a fire inspector was held over for" further consideration.
